Born in Kenya, raised across South Asia, the Middle East and Southern Africa, IkeN is a London-based alt-R&B/indie artist whose music reflects the fluidity of identity and culture. Shaped by years of moving between countries, his music carries the depth of his East African roots while embracing the perspectives of a global upbringing.
IkeN's debut album, “Galatea”, is an exploration taking the ancient Greek tale of Galatea and transforming it into a sonically lush and lyrically intricate cautionary tale. He has continued to hone his craft, experimenting with different sounds and refining his unique style of R&B music.
Identity isn’t a label, but a space one carves out for oneself.
Drawing inspiration from his own life experiences, literature, and those of others around him, IkeN writes and produces music that explores the tension between belonging and individuality, telling stories that are both deeply personal and widely relatable. Influenced by artists such as Alina Baraz, emawk, and Frank Ocean, his artistry is a reflection of a life lived in transition, where identity isn’t a label, but a space one carves out for oneself.
